The Rectors of Cley 1560–1804

The last page of the Cley Next the Sea General Register 1538–1662 contains the following, written in a progression of different handwritings:

NB I find that one Will[ia]m Branter Clerk was buried here in the year 1559 which was the year before Vincent Goodwin Sen[io]r was Rector of Cley but whether Branter was Rector I know not, but Goodwin came in in the year 1560, & was succeeded by Vincent Goodwin Jun[io]r (who I suppose was his son) in the year 1600, who was Succeeded in the year 1643 by Rice Allison, who was Succeeded in the year 1659 by Rob[ert] Lowd who was Succeeded in the year 1690 by Joseph Ward, who was Succeeded in the year 1736 by John Girdlestone —
[change of handwriting]
who was succeeded in the year 1763 by William Backhouse.
[change of handwriting]
who was succeeded in the year 1764 by Rob[er]t Thomlinson.
[change of handwriting]
Who was succeeded in the year 1802 by Richard Tho[mas] Gough who holds it until Robert the son of the late Rob[er]t Thomlinson shall be at age to take it.
